Weapons & Self Defense
You can’t have Combat Sports without the Combat. Take away the Sports and the rules and what you have left is Combatives. Our Combatives program takes your Combat Sports training to the NEXT LEVEL. With decades of training and experience behind our program, we offer no non-sense and effective solutions for street level encounters. We focus on not only skill development, but also on the mind-set necessary to effectively defend you, or your family, should the need arise. Derived from Filipino Martial Arts (FMA), Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Jeet Kune Do, and Muay Thai, we train with basic weapons (impact, bladed and firearms) as well as specialized and improvised weapons in order to prepare you for any situation.
With a network of highly recognized systems and instructors, GZ Hybrid Combatives provides the best and most up-to-date instruction and materials available in the region. We host and teach seminars throughout the year. We offer our Women’s Self Defense Series a few times a year, as well as our three part Bladed Weapons Workshops and our Handgun Seminars.
We invite in the top instructors in the business to increase our levels of knowledge and cut our training times down by offering top level instruction. We offer any of our seminars and workshops to the public and encourage you to contact us to set up an event for your group or business. Any subject matter covered at your request! Highly recommended for Law Enforcement and Corrections, as well as Military Personnel!

Women’s Self Defense
Our Women’s Self-Defense Series is a three part, workshop style, event. We cover everything from awareness and Verbal Jiu-Jitsu, to fighting on your feet, fighting on the ground, and fighting with weapons.
Effective, simple, principle driven. Our system is easy to learn and retain. Stress inoculation helps the student ingrain their responses and brings the reality of an attack into focus.
Part One focuses on awareness and Verbal Jiu-JItsu. The exercises presented help avoid a situation before it could even start. Failing those, we also focus on fighting in some of the nastiest ways possible with escape as your goal. Do some damage, create some distractions and get away.
Part Two takes all you learned in part one and starts teaching you movements and fighting on the ground. You gotta get to your feet to be able to run, so we show you effective ways to get to your feet. You gotta GET UP to GET OUT!
Part Three takes us into the realm of armed resistance to an attack. We begin to focus on self defense tools , proper tactics and considerations with everything from pepper sprays, to kubotans, to stun guns/tasers, and Handguns.
We offer NRA Basic Pistol certification for the CCW (Carrying Concealed Weapon) permitting process. We also offer further training to help you hone and sharpen the skills you need to defend yourself and possibly the one’s you love.
